Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
At Bellambi Public School, we are proud to support our students in developing confidence and communication skills through public speaking. This year, many of our talented speakers have represented our school with great success in the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities.
Students also have opportunities to participate in Southern Stars performing groups, Cultural dance groups, Choir, and the Wollongong Schools’ Choral Festival, giving them the chance to share their talents with the wider community.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Excursions are an important part of learning at Bellambi Public School, giving students the chance to explore, experience, and connect with the world around them.
Enrichment and HPGE opportunities
At Bellambi Public School, we provide a range of opportunities to extend and challenge our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) students.
These include programs such as Maths Enrichment Groups and Writing Groups, where students can extend their skills in focused, collaborative settings. Students are also encouraged to take part in sporting trials at school, regional, and state levels, giving them the chance to develop their talents and strive for excellence.
Lunchtime clubs and interest groups
At Bellambi Public School, students can get involved in a variety of fun and engaging lunch clubs. These clubs provide opportunities to explore new interests, make friends, and enjoy activities outside the classroom.
Students can join the Grub Club to learn about gardening and healthy eating, become a Nature Warrior to care for the environment, challenge their minds in the Chess Club, explore science, technology, engineering and maths in our STEM Club, or get active with Run Club.
