Virtual Walk for Reconciliation 2021
Bellambi Public School together with Local Aboriginal Elders, Uncle Richard Archibald and Aunty Sharralyn Robinson host the Walk for Reconciliation.
This year, like last year sees us being innovative and creative to continue to celebrate Reconciliation, in the virtual world.
2021 has us travelling 81.10 km for Reconciliation, which would take us 17 hours and 14 minutes to walk. Our virtual walk begins at Bellambi Point, before visiting many primary schools across our network. We travel from Bellambi Point to Helensburgh P.S, Waniora P.S, Tarrawanna P.S, Keiraville P.S, Smith Hills High, Lindsay Park P.S, Mount St Thomas P.S and back to Bellambi Point, each of these schools are demonstrating how we all connect, learn and grow in Reconciliation.
We all have a role to play when it comes to Reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, futures and culture.
Our 2021 Virtual Walk for Reconciliation is available on our Bellambi Public School website and also on our Facebook page. Please join us in recognising and valuing the importance of Reconciliation.
Further resources can be found on Bellambi Public School’s website from Thursday 27th May under the Aboriginal Education section, we continue to celebrate Aboriginal culture through a series of stories written by Aboriginal authors, recordings of these stories are available for use in your classroom.
